On This Day - April 06, 1946. The Australian National Airways Douglas C-49-DO '41-7686' arrived at Brisbane (Archerfield) having completed its delivery flight from the Philippines (Tacloban) via Mt Ambon - Darwin - Cloncurry. It was then converted to civilian standards at the A.N.A. workshop at Brisbane (Archerfield) before being registered as VH-ANQ on May 22. The aircraft was named 'Dromana'. |
