The Ansett-ANA Vickers Viscount 818 VH-RML sustained moderate damage when it landed at Brisbane (Eagle Farm) with the nose-wheel retracted. It was repaired and returned to service.

The Ansett / EastWest Airlines Boeing 727-277A VH-RMN was withdrawn from service at Melbourne (Tullamarine) and prepared for return to regular Ansett domestic operations.

The Air New Zealand Boeing 767-209 ZK-NBF 'Ararangi' was ferried from Auckland (New Zealand) to Sydney (Kingsford Smith) as Qantas Airways had been contracted to perform the 'end-of-lease' maintenance and to repaint it into the Air Canada livery, due to capacity limits at the Air New Zealand jet base.

The Express Freighters Australia / Qantas Freight Boeing 737-4S3F VH-XNH operated its last service in the 'StarTrack' livery, operating Flight QF7359 from Melbourne (Tullamarine) to Perth. Later that day it was ferried from Perth to Singapore (Seletar) as Flight QF7390 for maintenance and repainting.
