The Qantas Airways Lockheed 1049E Constellation VH-EAF 'Southern Wind' having been sold to the Boeing Aircraft Company, departed Sydney (Kingsford Smith) on its ferry flight to the United States (San Francisco, California) for storage. The aircraft was eventually broken-up in December 1964. |

On This Day - April 23, 1977. The BBA Cargo Douglas C-47A-20-DK VH-BAA operated its final revenue service operating Launceston to Melbourne (Essendon). It was then withdrawn from use and stored on-site. Its registration was cancelled on April 24, 1979. |
