The Royal Australian Air Force Vickers Viscount 816, A6-435, arrived at Canberra Airport, having completed its delivery flight from the United Kingdom. It was operated by Number 34 Squadron on V.I.P. duties.

On This Day - August 28, 2002.

The Independent Air Freighters Boeing 727-277AF VH-RMX operated its last freight service, operating Perth to Melbourne (Tullamarine). The aircraft was then returned to Intrepid Aviation Partners the same day, before it was sold to TransAustralian Air Express on September 18, and reregistered as VH-VLG on September 30.

The ex Pionair Adventures Ltd, New Zealand Douglas C-47A-20-DL ZK-AMS, now registered as VH-CWS to Classic Wings, Western Australia, arrived at Perth (Jandakot) having completed its ferry flight from Sydney (Bankstown), where it had undergone a complete overhaul, following its return to the Australian Aircraft Register on March 14.
