The Qantas Airways Boeing 747SP-38 VH-EAA 'City of Gold Coast Tweed' departed Sydney (Kingsford Smith) on a three-day Queensland promotional tour and pilot-training flights. Its first 'port-of-call' was Townsville, where it was opened for 'public inspection'.

The QantasLink Bombardier DHC-8-315Q VH-TQD 'Mt Isa' was ferried from Townsville to Brisbane after being repainted by Flying Colours into the airline's 'Silver Roo' livery, following its return from Jetstar's New Zealand operation. It returned to QantasLink service the next day.
