The ex Trans Oceanic Airways Short S.45 Solent Mk 3 flying boat VH-TOD, now registered as N9945F to South Pacific Air Lines, Oakland, California, USA, departed Sydney (Rose Bay) on its ferry flight to the United States (California / Oakland). The aircraft never flew again.

The QantasLink Boeing 717-23S VH-AFR, having just been repainted into its new livery, operated the airline's inaugural Sydney (Kingsford Smith) - Maroochydore service as Flight QF882.

The Pacific Blue Boeing 737-8FE VH-VUH 'Lady Rebecca', now reregistered as ZK-PBI, was ferried from Melbourne (Tullamarine) to Christchurch (New Zealand) as Flight PBN9070. It entered Pacific Blue service the same day, operating Flight DJ3025 from Christchurch to Wellington.
