The Qantas Empire Airways Douglas DC-4-1009 VH-EBM 'Philippine Trader' operated the airline's inaugural Sydney (Kingsford Smith) - Darwin - Labuan - Hong Kong (Kai Tak) service as Flight EM202.

On This Day - June 26, 1950.

The Australian National Airways Douglas DC-4-1009 VH-ANA 'Amana' was destroyed when it crashed at night on the property 'Betty Bow', situated 19 km NW of York, Western Australia. The crash occured some 13 minutes after the aircraft had departed Perth (Guildford) on its flight to Adelaide.
