On This Day - March 03, 1942. The Short S.23C Empire Class flying boat G-AEUC 'Corinna' was destroyed whilst moored on the water at Broome, Western Australia, waiting to be refuelled. Nine Japanese Mitsubishi A6M2 Zeros, that were based at Koepang, Indonesia carried out the raid. A total of 15 flying boats were destroyed that morning. |
