The Qantas Airways Lockheed 1049H-01-55 VH-EAB 'Southern Horizon' operated its final freighter service, from Sydney (Kingsford Smith) to the United States (California / San Francisco). It was then ferried to Burbank the next day, where it was stored awaiting sale to Boeing. On engine shut-down the aircraft had flown 18,104 hours. |
On This Day - March 24, 2011. The Qantas Jetconnect Boeing 737-476 ZK-JTR operated it last revenue service as Flight QF115 from Brisbane to Auckland (New Zealand). The aircraft was then withdrawn from service, and all markings were then removed in preparation for its sale to the Savegh Group. |

On This Day - March 24, 2013. The Qantas Airways Boeing 737-838 VH-VZU 'Lorne' was rolled out at Sydney (Kingsford Smith) with additional 'Qantas Loves Ellen' decals. This was to promote the Ellen Degeneres Show during Ellen's visit to Australia for filming Australian episodes of her popular show. |

On This Day - March 24, 2020. The Qantas Airways Airbus A380-842 VH-OQJ 'Bert Hinkler' operated its last passenger service, operating Flight QF11 from Sydney (Kingsford Smith) to Los Angeles (United States). It was then withdrawn from use and stored at Los Angeles due to the COVID-19 pandemic. |
