The Trans-Australia Airlines Vickers Viscount 720C VH-TVB was sold to Ansett-ANA to replace their Vickers Viscount VH-TVC that had previously crashed into Sydney's Botany Bay. This aircraft was then reregistered as VH-RMQ.

The East-West Airlines Douglas C-47A-35-DL VH-EWD 'Lachlan City' was sold to Brain and Brown Pty Ltd, Melbourne. It was reregistered as VH-BAM the same day.

The Trans-Australia Airlines Lockheed 188A Electra VH-TLC 'Charles Sturt' operated its last passenger service, as Flight TN446 from Hobart to Melbourne (Essendon). It was then stored at Melbourne (Essendon) awaiting sale, having flown 28,831 hours with 22,595 cycles.

The Boeing 727-77QC VH-TBS operated its final Australian air Express freighter service. It was then withdrawn from use and stored at Brisbane.
