It was cancelled from the Australian Aircraft Register the following day and allocated the Australian Military Aircraft Registration 'A30-3'. |
On This Day - September 10, 1968. The Ansett-ANA Vickers Viscount 720C VH-RMQ was leased to MacRobertson-Miller Airlines, so that it could upgrade its service on the Perth - Port Headland route. It was delivery to Perth three days later. |

On This Day - September 10, 1974. The Ansett Flying Boat Services Short S.25 Sandringham Mk.4 flying boat VH-BRC 'Beachcomber' operated the airline's final flying boat passenger service from Sydney (Rose Bay) to Lord Howe Island. It returned to Lord Howe the following day to pick-up assorted airline equipment. This flight was the airline's 1,360th and last flying boat flight to Lord Howe. |

It was undergoing heavy maintenance when Ansett suspended all operations on September 13, and it did not return to service. It had flown 43,595 hours with 30,789 cycles. |
