The Australian National Airways Douglas C-49B-DO VH-ANO 'Tinana' had the honour of operating the airline's final service from Brisbane (Archerfield) to Brisbane (Eagle Farm) Airport.

The Trans-Australia Airlines Douglas C-47-35-DL VH-AEY 'Wentworth' operated its final service, as a freighter. It was then withdrawn from service and prepared for sale to the Royal Netherlands Air Force.

Ansett International Ltd took delivery of the Boeing 747-412 VH-ANA at Hong Kong (Chek Lap Kok). It had been dry-leased from Singapore Airlines. It entered service later that day operating Flight AN888 from Hong Kong (Chek Lap Kok) to Sydney (Kingsford Smith).

The QantasLink Bombardier DHC-8-315Q C-GZDM arrived at Sydney (Kingsford Smith) having completed its delivery flight from Canada (Toronto, Downsview). It was reregistered as VH-TQH before it entered service.

The QantasLink Bombardier DHC-8-315Q VH-SBI was ferried Brisbane - Townsville as Flight QF6713, for repainting by Flying Colours into the Jetstar livery in preparation for its deployment to New Zealand.
