The Allied Directorate of Air Transport's Douglas C-49B-DO '41-7693' was deemed to be surplus to requirements, and was sold to Australian National Airways Pty Ltd. It was then converted to civilian airliner standards at its Brisbane workshop to seat 21 passengers before it entered service in May.
