The ex Qantas Airways Lockheed 749A Constellation VH-EAA, having been sold to British Overseas Airways Corp on February 09 and reregistered as G-ANUP, departed Sydney (Kingsford Smith) on its ferry flight to the United Kingdom (London, Heathrow).

On This Day - February 16, 1968.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 707-138B VH-EBE 'City of Perth' departed Sydney (Kingsford Smith) on its final revenue service, operating Sydney - San Francisco - Sydney. On its return to Sydney it was withdrawn from use and stored, pending its sale to Standard Airways, having flown 26,203 hours.

On This Day - February 16, 1976.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 747-238B VH-EBA 'City of Canberra' departed Sydney (Kingsford Smith) on the first non-stop eastward crossing of the Pacific Ocean to the United States. It was being ferried to Seattle (Everett, Paine Field) to have new '10-abreast' seating modification work carried out.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 737-838 VH-VXB 'Yananyi Dreaming' entered service operating Flight QF415 from Sydney (Kingsford Smith) to Melbourne (Tullamarine).

The Jetstar Airways Airbus A320-232 VH-JQW was ferried from Sydney (Kingsford Smith) to Sydney (Richmond) for repainting into the standard 'Jetstar' livery.

On This Day - February 16, 2012.

The Air Australia Airbus A320-212 VH-YQA 'The Kimberley' operated its last revenue service as Flight VC663 from Melbourne (Tullamarine) to Brisbane. It was then withdrawn from service and stored at Brisbane, as the airline suspended all opertations the next day.
