Built as a Mark 31M freighter for the Pakistan Air Force - 1955 Allocated the serial number S4438 Transferred to the Pakistan Government - April 1961 Entered onto the Pakistani Aircraft Register as AP-AMD Sold to Pacific Aviation - 1961 Overhauled by Bristol Aviation Services at Bankstown, Sydney Entered onto the Australian Aircraft Register as VH-ADL - February 16, 1962 Registered to Pacific Aviation Pty Ltd Withdrawn from use and stored at Archerfield, Brisbane - 1963 Overhauled by Air Express for intended sale to SAFE Ltd, New Zealand - 1965 Badly damaged during forced-landing at Pimpana, Queensland following engine failure - June 26, 1965 Rebuilt by Air Express and test flown - June 1966 Sale to SAFE Ltd did not proceed, entered service with Air Express Chartered by Ipec to deliver freight Brisbane-Cowra as aircraft was not permitted to carry cargo into Victoria Chartered by Mayne Nickless to carry freight Brisbane-Sydney-Melboure from July 1, 1968 Operated its final Air Express service - King Island-Melbourne - August 17, 1979 Withdrawn from use having flown 7,635 cycles Cancelled from the Australian Aircraft Register - August 12, 1983 Transported to Wangaratta, Victoria for display at the Airworld Collection Acquired by the Moorabbin Air Museum following closure of Airworld - 2004 On display at Moorabbin Airport, Victoria in partly dismantled state - July 2004 |
