The aircraft overran the runway on landing in wet, storm weather and ended up nose-down in salt water

No injuries were sustained by the 36 passengers or crew

Although only the front part of the aircraft entered the water the internal water damage was severe

It was deemed to be beyond economical repair due to the salt water corrosion

Officially withdrawn from service - November 2002

The fuselage was acquired by the airport authority as an emergency training aid

The engines and propellers were purchased by Hants & Sussex Aviation, Portsmouth
