On This Day - June 10, 1951.

The Qantas Empire Airways Short S-25 Sandringham Mk 4 'Tasman Class' flying boat VH-EBW was damaged beyond repair whilst taxiing out for take-off at Vila Harbour, New Hebrides. The aircraft struck some coral which punctured the hull in several places, resulting in the aircraft taking-on water and sinking.

On This Day - June 10, 1960.

The Trans-Australia Airlines Fokker F.27-1002 Friendship VH-TFB 'Abel Tasman' was destroyed when it crashed into the sea at night, whilst attempting to land at Mackay (Queensland), killing all 25 passengers and 4 crew members. The aircraft had flown 2,420 hours with 3,396 cycles.

The ex Trans-Australia Airlines Lockheed 188A Electra VH-TLC, having been sold to Concare Aircraft Leasing on January 21, and reregistered as N188LC, departed Melbourne (Tullamarine) on its ferry flight to the United States.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 747-238B VH-EBA 'City of Canberra' was chartered by Gina Hayward for two days, on a 'Round Australia Odyssey' to celebrate her father's 70th birthday. Her father, Lang Hancock, and 300 invited guests enjoyed the experience.

The Air New Zealand Boeing 747-219B ZK-NZW 'Tainui' arrived at Auckland (New Zealand) having completed its delivery flight from the United States (Paine Field, Everett). It was the airline's 2nd Boeing 747.

On This Day - June 10, 1983.

The Ansett Airlines Boeing 767-277 VH-RMD arrived at Melbourne (Tullamarine) having completed its delivery flight from the United States (Seattle / Boeing Field) as Flight AN767. It was the airline's 1st Boeing 767. The delivery of this aircraft had been delayed for several months, partly due to interference by the Pilot's Union, as they had done with the Douglas DC-9s. The Union insisted that a Flight Engineer's station be installed in the aircraft, even though these aircraft had been designed and certified to be flown by a 'two-man' crew. The 5 Ansett Boeing 767s were the only aircraft built with a Flight Engineer's station.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 737-376 VH-TJB was rolled out at Melbourne (Tullamarine) in the Solomon Airlines livery. It was intended to operate services on a shared basis, operating Qantas domestic services on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and Solomon Airline services on Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday. The aircraft was renamed 'Guadalcanal'.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 737-838 VH-VXH 'Warnambool' arrived at Sydney 'Kingsford Smith) having completed its delivery flight from the United States (Seattle / Boeing Field) as Flight QF6020. It was the airline's 125th Boeing airliner and its 11th Boeing 737.

The ex-Australian Airlines Boeing 767-338ER VH-OGK was ferried from Sydney (Kingsford Smith) to Sydney (RAAF Richmond) as Flight QF6193 for repainting into the standard Qantas livery.

The Qantas Foundation Memorial Ltd's Boeing 707-138B VH-XBA 'City of Melbourne' was ferried from Sydney (Kingsford Smith) to Queensland (Longreach) on delivery to the Qantas Founders Outback Museum, where it was placed on permanent display.

The Virgin Australia Boeing 737-8FE VH-YFF 'Wineglass Bay' arrived at Christchurch (New Zealand) having completed its delivery frlight from the United States (Seattle, Boeing Field) as Flight DL9080. Pre-delivery modifications were completed at Christchurch before the aircraft was ferried to Brisbane as Flight DJ9080 on June 15.

The Qantas Airways Airbus A380-842 VH-OQA 'Nancy-Bird Walton' departed Sydney (Kingsford Smith) on its ferry flight to the United States (Victorville) as Flight QF6003 for long-term storage due to the COVID-19 pandemic travel restrictions. It remained stored at Victorville until September 24, 2022.
