The Qantas Empire Airways Douglas DC-4-1009 VH-EBM 'Philippine Trader' operated the airline's inaugural Sydney (Kingsford Smith) - Darwin - Labuan - Hong Kong (Kai Tak) service as Flight EM202.

On This Day - June 26, 1950.

The Australian National Airways Douglas DC-4-1009 VH-ANA 'Amana' was destroyed when it crashed at night on the property 'Betty Bow', situated 19 km NW of York, Western Australia. The crash occured some 13 minutes after the aircraft had departed Perth (Guildford) on its flight to Adelaide.

The Qantas Empire Airways Lockheed 749-79 Constellation VH-EAE 'Bert Hinkler' was withdrawn from service at Sydney (Kingsford Smith) for repainting into the airline's new livery - white cabin roof, a red fuselage c/line and new titles.

The Trans-Australia Airlines Vickers Viscount 756C VH-TVJ 'John Forrest' arrived at Melbourne (Essendon) having completed its delivery flight from the United Kingdom (Hurn).

On This Day - June 26, 1971.

One of the Ansett 'bomb ransom demand' perpetrators was arrested as he sat in a Brisbane bound aircraft on the tarmac at Sydney (Kingsford Smith), after being handed a bag filled with cut-up paper to represent the ransom demand money. He was arrested by an undercover police woman disguised as an Ansett hostess.

The Australian Airlines Boeing 737-376 VH-TAY 'Valiant' arrived at Melbourne (Tullamarine) having completed its delivery flight from the United States (Seattle, Boeing Field) as Flight TN1399. It was the airline's 11th Boeing 737.

The Royal Australian Navy Hawker Siddeley HS-748-2-268 N15-709 was ferried from Nowra (RANAS Albatross) to Sale (RAAF East Sale) for storage, awaiting sale. It was sold in 2001 to TAG Aviation.

The Virgin Blue Boeing 737-8BK VH-VUN having been repainted into the standard 'Virgin Australia' livery by Flying Colours at Townsville and renamed 'Carrickalinga Beach' was ferried from Townsville to Briabane as Flight VA9938. It returned to service the next day operating Flight VA908 from Brisbane to Sydney (Kingsford Smith).
