The Australian National Airways Douglas C-49B-DO VH-ANO 'Tinana' was badly damaged when it crashed through the boundary fence at Melbourne (Essendon) when an engined failed on take-off and the brakes subsequently failed to arrest the aircraft during its attempt to stop on the runway.

The Qantas Airways Lockheed 749-79 Constellation VH-EAE 'Bert Hinkler' was rolled-out at Sydney (Kingsford Smith) in the airline's new livery - white cabin roof, a red fuselage c/line and new titles.

The Trans-Australia Airlines Vickers Viscount 756 VH-TVI 'Matthew Flinders' entered service.

On This Day - June 30, 1959.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 707-138 VH-EBB 'City of Canberra' was the first Boeing 707 to land at Honolulu. This event occurred during the aircraft's delivery flight to Australia.

On This Day - June 30, 1967.

The Ansett-ANA Douglas DC-3-387 VH-ANP operated its final revenue service. The aircraft was then 'parked-up' at the Melbourne (Essendon) Airport 'grave-yard' before its registration was cancelled on November 18, 1968 It was sold to Sims Metal Ltd the following year.

On This Day - June 30, 1968.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 707-138B VH-EBH 'City of Darwin' operated its final revenue service, flying Sydney (Kingsford Smith) - Christchurch (New Zealand) - Sydney (Kingsford Smith). It was then withdrawn from service and stored at Sydney until it was sold to British West Indian Airways (BWIA) on August 12, 1969.

On This Day - June 30, 1997.

The Air New Zealand Boeing 767-204ER ZK-NBI, leased from Britannia Airways, departed Christchurch (New Zealand) after undergoing post lease maintenance, on its ferry flight to Spain, for lease to Air Europa.

On This Day - June 30, 2003.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 767-238ER VH-EAK, now devoid of all titles and marrkings, departed Sydney (Kingsford Smith) as Flight QF7571 on its ferry flight to the United States for long-term storage and eventual scrapping in 2008. However its flight across the Pacific Ocean was not lost as it was put to good use, operating a supplementary Qantas freighter service from Sydney to Honolulu.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 767-338ER VH-OGR 'City of Corowa' leased to Australian Airlines, operated its final Australian Airlines service as Flight AO7876 from Hong Kong to Cairns.

The Royal Australian Air Force Boeing 707-338C A20-624 'Richmond Town' was officially withdrawn from service at a special ceremony held at Sydney (RAAF Richmond) after it had flown a special 'Farewell' flight over Sydney earlier that day.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 767-338ER VH-OGH departed Sydney (Kingsford Smith) on the ferry flight to the United States (Victorville, California) as Flight QF6017 for long-term storage. It was eventually sold to Cargo Aircraft Mamagement on April 22, 2016.

The Virgin Australia Boeing 737-8BK VH-VUN was ferried from Melbourne (Tullamarine) to Christchurch (New Zealand) as Flight VA9948 for further post-lease maintenance.

The Nauru Airlines Boeing 737-79L N348NA arrived at Brisbane having completed its delivery flight from the United States (Miami, Opa Locka). It was reregistered as VH-INU on July 16.
